The Africa Office is operated by Linda Venter, as Director for Africa and Tersia Pelser as Secretary and has been operational since 1995. It established and now maintains a solid membership base in Africa. These are members who join from a business point of view being mainly Outfitters and Professional Hunters, who contribute not only through Membership, but also Advertising, Exhibiting at the Convention and Hunt Donations, etc. These are the valuable members who are donating largely to SCI's primary source of income and it is imperative that the majority of new memberships will continue to be from the ranks of Outfitters and Professional Hunters who provide the sort after market for international SCI members to continue to hunt in Africa.

The office operates in collaboration with the Washington Office which handles Governmental Affairs and Wildlife Conservation. Over the years, through an SCI presence in Africa, strong ties have been established with the Southern African Developments Community Countries (SADC) through liaisons with Wildlife Directors and Governments, on hunting and wildlife conservation issues that strengthens advocacy of the interests of the international sport hunter in Southern Africa.

The SCI South Africa Office, working with a network of Professional Hunters' Associations and NGO's within Southern Africa, strives to establish a stable hunting industry with focus on the long-term benefits to conservation through sustainable use of Africa's wildlife. Being a strong advocate for international hunters, the office assists international hunters with firearm importation and questions about hunting regulations throughout the region.
